Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026
Version: 2026-07-25

This Privacy Policy explains how Bergernomics, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), which operates the Fixology application at fixology.app (the "Service"), collects, uses, and shares information about you.

Fixology helps homeowners understand, diagnose, and manage home maintenance and improvement projects. This policy is written in plain language; if anything is unclear, contact us at support@fixology.app.

Who this Service is for

The Service is intended for users in the United States who are 18 or older. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Information we collect

Information you provide:

Information collected automatically:

We do not collect precise geolocation or advertising identifiers, and we do not store your payment card details — subscription payments are handled by Stripe (see "Payments" below).

How we use your information

We use your information to:

How AI analysis works

When you scan a photo, we send that photo and related context to our AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), which analyzes it and returns the result you see in the app. This processing is governed by Anthropic's commercial terms. Under those terms, Anthropic does not use the photos or information we send to train its AI models, and it does not retain that content by default beyond a limited period used for operational and safety purposes. We send only what is needed to produce your analysis.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe, our payment processor. When you subscribe, you are taken to Stripe's secure, hosted checkout to enter your payment details, and you can manage or cancel your plan through Stripe's customer portal. Your card details go directly to Stripe — we never receive, see, or store them. Stripe processes your payment information under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS security standards. From Stripe we retain only non-sensitive identifiers (your Stripe customer and subscription IDs) and your plan status, which we associate with your household so the right members have access. If you delete your account, we cancel any subscription you own so you are not charged again.

Household sharing

Fixology lets you create or join a "household" so that home information can be shared among its members. If you are a member of a household, other members can see the home content, scans, and photos associated with that household. Only share a household with people you trust with that information.

Shareable links ("Hand this to a pro")

The Service lets you create a shareable link to a project or scan — for example, to send to a contractor. You control what information a link reveals. Anyone who has the link can view that shared content, including any photos, without logging in, and the link stays active until you turn it off — it does not expire automatically. You can revoke a link at any time in the app; revoking it, or generating a new one, immediately disables the old link. You can also contact us for help disabling a link.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a sale of the business), in which case we will notify you of any material change.

How long we keep information

We keep your account and home content for as long as your account is active. Photos you upload are stored in private, household-restricted storage and are kept while they are in use. When you delete a scan or project in the app, its saved details are erased and its photos are removed from storage once no remaining scan or project references them. You can delete your entire account and all associated data yourself in the app, or request deletion using the process below; either way, we remove them.

Your choices and rights

You can:

If you are a member of a shared household, content you created may be retained for the remaining members after you leave or delete your account, so that their shared home information stays intact.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (such as the right to know what we collect and to request deletion). You can exercise these by contacting us at support@fixology.app, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Cookies and local storage

We use functional browser storage that is necessary to keep you signed in. We also store a first-party anonymous analytics identifier in your browser's localStorage for PostHog product analytics — this is not a cookie, is not used for advertising, and does not track you across other sites; if your browser's Do-Not-Track setting is on, no such identifier is created. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and our page-level analytics is cookieless. The Service does not currently display a cookie-consent banner; we may add analytics opt-out or consent controls as the Service grows.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including private, access-controlled storage and restricting access to household members. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
